The InterAsia Partnership

Scholarship, research and collaboration re-envisioning Asia
About usPartners

our mission

The InterAsia Partnership connects scholars, practitioners, research centers and universities in order to re-envision Asia as an interconnected formation through developing transregional frames that transcend conventional academic and geopolitical labels. This promotes better understandings of historical and contemporary phenomena and processes in complex global settings and enables collaborative and comparative projects and practices.

Focus Areas

Power and Regulation

Examining how concepts and practices of power and regulation are formulated, propagated and enacted.

Infrastructures for Knowledge Production

Understanding the infrastructures for knowledge production, in terms of capacity building and as an intellectual project.

Circulations

Exploring the movements of actors, ideas, practices and objects across the territorial and imaginative space of Asia.

our history

In 2007 the Social Science Research Council (New York) began developing what became the InterAsia Program and the InterAsia Partnership. The InterAsia Partnership evolved into a network of institutions collaborating to support individual fellows, network researchers through workshops, summer schools and academies and organize the InterAsian Connections international conference series.
