About
The IAP seeks to look beyond the fast emerging consensus that the world is moving into a bi-polar configuration, with US-China rivalry setting the magnetic field of forces within which many lesser powers and smaller countries may feel that they have to choose sides. Beginning from the position that the decline of interdependence has been overstated, or misunderstood, we hope to move beyond a two-dimensional analytical lens of “US-China” that can obscure the fuller array of issues facing countries across InterAsia, as well as the agency of other actors, including non-state actors. Projects examine the complex political economy of the world order and the ways in which states and regions align and realign themselves continually.
